The URL says Tucson. The campaign says all of District 6.

The Ledger

Every dollar this campaign has spent, updated as it happens. No donations have been accepted, see the FAQ, so every line below came out of my own pocket.

Why does this page exist? Federal law requires campaigns to register with the FEC and file financial reports once they raise or spend $5,000. We’re deliberately staying under that line, which means, legally, nobody ever has to show you this. That’s exactly why we do show you this: “trust me” isn’t the platform. The running total below is also how you (and we) know how far we are from that $5,000 ceiling.

Date Item Amount Running Total Notes
June 2026 Domain: votetucson.org $7.99 $7.99 It was cheap. We've been upfront about this.
June 2026 Domain: votedorland.com $7.99 $15.98 In case you couldn't remember the other one.
June 2026 Web hosting (monthly) $15.00 $30.98 The server this radical transparency lives on.
June 2026 Mailbox (monthly) $9.99 $40.97 A campaign needs an address. Ours is a box.
June 2026 WordPress election plugin $54.00 $94.97 The single largest expenditure of this campaign was a WordPress plugin. Let that calibrate your expectations.
June 2026 Gas — exploratory driving $7.50 $102.47 1.5 gallons (estimated). The exploratory committee was one guy in a car asking people if this was a stupid idea. Results inconclusive; campaign proceeded anyway.
July 2026 Web hosting (monthly) $15.00 $117.47 Same server, second month. It does not get cheaper by being ignored.
July 2026 Mailbox (monthly) $9.99 $127.46 Still paying. Still waiting on the paperwork to clear. Counted anyway — we pay for it whether it works or not.
July 2026 Claude AI subscription (monthly) $20.00 $147.46 Used for campaign drafting, among much else. We counted the whole month anyway — rounding against ourselves is the policy. See the AI Policy; yes, it's disclosed there too.
July 2026 Google Voice number $0.00 $147.46 Free. Our favorite price. Listed anyway, because a ledger with things missing is just a brochure.
July 2026 Substack $0.00 $147.46 Also free. This row exists to prove we're counting the zeros.
August 2026 Web hosting (monthly) $15.00 $162.46 Third month. The radical transparency is on a payment plan.
August 2026 Mailbox (monthly) $9.99 $172.45 Three months paid, zero months usable. This is on the ledger because we spent it, not because we got anything for it.
August 2026 Claude AI subscription (monthly) $20.00 $192.45 Used for campaign work among much else, and counted in full again. Rounding against ourselves is still the policy.

Running total: $192.45 of a $5,000 federal ceiling. At the current burn rate, this campaign hits the FEC registration threshold sometime around 2035. We'll keep you posted.

What's not on here:

things we already owned before the campaign existed — my computer, my phone, the solar panels, the house internet, the house, the two new graphics cards my wife let me get. Volunteer time from family and friends costs nothing and is priced accordingly. If a genuine gray-area expense ever shows up, it goes on the ledger with a note explaining the judgment call, and you can disagree with me about it in public.
